The Tennessee Council for the Deaf Deaf-Blind and Hard of Hearing (TCDDBHH) has the responsibility for ensuring that state and local public programs and services are accessible to deaf, hard of hearing, late deafened, and Deaf-Blind citizens. TCDDBHH coordinates communication, information, public awareness, and advocacy services through six regional community service centers. The centers assist the Division of Rehabilitation Services by providing services that compliment those offered by Vocational Rehabilitation staff.

This workshop is designed to enable participants to understand and fully participate in the IEP Team process. Participants will learn:

• The types of services that can be provided through “special education” services.
• The information on the Individual Education Program (IEP) document and where it goes.
• How to express parent concerns and ensure they are addressed by the IEP team.
• Understand the process to set and write Measurable Annual Goals.

Event

This workshop is designed for professionals and parents of children in special education or that might need special education. Come and gain a working knowledge of special education laws, including your role in the development of an appropriate education program (IEP) and how to be an effective partner with the school team in the process.

The East Tennessee Deaf Senior Citizens have a weekly social every Wednesday at Knoxville Center of the Deaf that often includes games, cards, snacks, and catching up with the community.

The intrepid Phileas Fogg with his loyal valet, Passepartout, voyage from Victorian London through the Indian subcontinent, to Asia and across the Pacific to America on a wager that he will return in precisely 80 days. Literally, a theatrical tour-de-force. This play will be interpreted. 

This production may employ the use of theatrical haze and/or fog.
