About
The Mayor’s Council on Disability is part of an initiative created to help make Chattanooga more accessible to everyone, regardless of their ability.

Mission
The Mayor’s Council on Disability's overall mission is to promote policies, programs, practices, and procedures that give equal opportunity for all individuals with disabilities, regardless of the nature or severity of the disability; and to empower individuals with disabilities to achieve economic self-sufficiency, independent living, and inclusion and integration into all aspects of society.

Description
The Mayor's Council on Disability social media site shall supplement, not replace, the City’s required notices and standard methods of communication.

The City of Chattanooga’s official website at www.chattanooga.gov will remain the City’s primary means of internet communication.

The intended purpose of the Mayor's Council on Disability social media site is to disseminate information from the Mayor's Council on Disability's mission, meeting information, meeting minutes from current and past assembles, activities and current issues to the citizens of Chattanooga.

General Information
We all have more in common than differences. With a diverse network of information, the dedicated people on Mayor's Council on Disability are partners with the City of Chattanooga to help serve those with disabilities. People of all abilities want to live their lives to the fullest – without limitations. And the public’s perception and awareness about disabilities will expand when discoveries are made about how people with different abilities live, work and play together.
