Open captioning and American Sign Language will be provided for Once, winner of the 2013 Tony Award for Best Musical, on Sunday, September 21 at 1:00 p.m. at the Tennessee Performing Arts Center.  Running time is two hours and 30 minutes with one intermission.

Set in modern-day Dublin, Once tells the story of a young man who gave up on his music and the young woman who inspired him to dream again. The talent of an extraordinary cast of actor-musicians combines with inventive staging, originality, and wit for a production that has won awards, critical acclaim and popularity with audiences. Once, in fact, is the only show on Broadway with music that won Academy, Grammy, Olivier and Tony Awards.  The uplifting musical includes all of the songs from the critically-acclaimed film, including the Oscar-winning “Falling Slowly.”

The New York Post says that this “gem of a show wins its standing ovations the old-fashioned way: with a love story, great songs, compelling characters and inventive stagecraft.”

Tickets in the lower orchestra level are $55 each (a $10 discount) and are on hold through September 15 for patrons who use ASL and/or open captioning and their companions.
