Tennessee Disability MegaConference - 13th Annual convention

The Tennessee Disability MegaConference is Tennessee’s largest disability-specific conference for individuals with disabilities, families, and professionals.  At the conference, people share the latest information and innovations on many topics including housing, employment, education, health care, recreation and leisure, mental health, and others.  Continuing education credits are offered in many categories.  People attending make new friends and important connections as everyone works together to encourage the full participation of all people with disabilities in their own lives!


What will happen:  
We will eat pizza for lunch at 12:00. Activities range from the playground, taking a ride on their bikes, playing ball in the field, or taking a stroll around the Riverpark. 

Who is invited:
Children who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing, their families, the professionals who serve them, and Deaf or Hard of Hearing adults/mentors.

Food is provided: 
Pizza and Little Debbies will be provided. If you would like to volunteer to bring a pack of drinks, juices, or waters, please let Brandi Groce know when you RSVP.

Please help get the word out to any parents of Deaf and HOH children you may know and encourage them to come and meet other children and their parents. We are a great group of parents and professionals who enjoy one another, learn from one another, and support one another without bias! Contact Brandi Groce with any questions. Jump Up and Join the Fun with Tennessee Hands & Voices at Leaping Lizards!

Who is Invited?  Families of deaf, deaf-blind and hard of hearing children, deaf adults, and the professionals who serve them.

What will happen?  We will be bouncing on the inflatables, socializing, and having fun!

What to bring:  Bring snacks or finger foods to share with everyone like chips/dip, cookies, crackers, sandwiches, salsa/chips, meat/cheese tray, veggies or veggie tray, juices, cokes, fruits or fruit tray (with caramel or fruit dip), pickles, etc.

Tennessee Hillbilly Deaf will provide food between 11:00-2:00.  $5 for food, kids eat free.  BYOB or buy from the picnic center.  

From 2:00-6:00 KCTAD will have games.  There will be a Cornhole tournament with an entry fee of $10 per person.  This money will be used toward TAD's conference this summer.  

From 6:00-7:00 there will be supper of beef stew for $10. 

At 7:00 a poker tournament will begin.  There is an entry fee of $30.  From the $30, $10 will go towards the TAD conference and the remaining $20 will go to the top three winners of the tournament.  


Hey Hillbillies! Spring is here! It is time to get out in the warm weather and I got tell you that there is one place that you all can come. It is THD's picnic! We are celebrating 6th Anniversary. 6 years already. It is you hillbillies that keep THD going and going.

The picnic will be on April 6th at Knoxville Center of the Deaf (KCD) in Knoxville from 10:30 am till 4:00 pm.

THD will be providing fried chicken and cake.

If you bring food, cost $1.00 dollar.
If you do not bring food but want to eat with us, cost $5.00 dollars.
If you don't want to eat but want to hang out with us, free to do so.

Drinks cost $1.00 dollar each.
