Filmmaker Judy Lieff explores the beauty and power of American Sign Language poetry in Deaf Jam, the story of deaf teen Aneta Brodski's bold journey into the spoken word slam scene. Come view the film followed by discussion and poetry improvisation.
ASL interpreter provided.
This event is for adults and older teens.
The park is fully accessible for Dollywood's Deaf Awareness Day with all shows, rides, and demonstrations interpreted.
Interpreters at a variety of levels can volunteer to help.
Lisa Spells will be the guest speaker. Lisa is the president and CEO of L.A.S. Therapy Network & Group.
Information will be shared, there will be door prizes and refreshments.
There is parking at the library but it is only free for the first 90 minutes. The maximum rate is $4. Handicapped parking is free but you must write your name and expiration date of the tag on the parking ticket and be ready to show ID. MCRC is not responsible for parking fees.

Please bring a food to share and dessert. Suggestions include tacos (with all the fixings), chips and dip, salad, drinks, and dessert.
There will be no meeting, just time to socialize.
The KCTAD meeting will be from 12:30-2 and will be followed by a cornhole tournament from 2-6.
Picnic is from 4-7 and followed by an accessible movie, "Finding Nemo," starting at 7.
