Event

Deaf Family Reunion is an event celebrated by adults and children living with a common experience. Our deafness, which is a communication disability, sets us apart in a finely grained ranged of experiences. Within those experiences, we find common ground with one another, we are a Deaf Family. Within the Deaf Family, there are different approaches to reconcile with the challenges that having a communication disability brings: our Deaf Family includes ASL, ESL, and Oralism (AGB).

Event

Children, teens and adults who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing, their families, and professionals who support us are welcome to join us at Shelby Farms Park, Pine Lake Drive (Pavilion #2) - near Woodland Discovery Playground and Lake.  We will grill hot dogs, connect with each other, and enjoy the lake.

This event is FREE and sponsored by:  East Memphis, Quota International; PEARS; Deaf Family Literacy Mid-South; Family Voices of Tennessee; DeafConnect of the Mid-South, Inc.; and the Tennessee Dept. of Health.

Welcome to the Bringing the Stage to Life - NASHVILLE Conference! This event is completely unique and cannot be compared to any short or long term Performance Interpreting conference. BSL Nashville focuses on preparing attendees to use Performance Interpreting skills for professional and local events. Because BSL Nashville is located here in Music City U.S.A. we have a unique opportunity to access a wide variety of musical styles and settings ranging from dinner theatres, to national shows, to local Honky Tonks, one time big named concerts, to the famous Grand Ole Opry stage.
