Wisconsin Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (WisRID) is a 50-year-old non-profit organization which encourages sponsoring activities and executing policies for improvement.
We are committed to improving the profession of interpreting.
Founded in 1971, WisRID works with existing interpreter training programs in the education and development of sign language interpreters.
What We Are
- Wisconsin Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf, WisRID, is a non-profit organization serving the Deaf, Hard of Hearing, and Deaf-Blind persons in the state of Wisconsin.
- We are a subchapter affiliate of our parent organization Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf, RID.
Our Vision
WisRID envisions a state where professional interpreters and transliterators are recognized for their social value and professional standards including credentials of linguistic and ethical competence.
