You won't want to miss the exciting opportunity to attend the historic TDI-ALDA 2013 Joint Conference.  We're breaking new ground with this "First Of Its Kind" collaboration between two two national organizations serving individuals who are deaf or have a hearing loss.  The conference will feature outstanding presenters, a rich variety of exhibits, exceptional entertainment, and a "let it all hang out" farewell karaoke party.  Indeed, there will be something for everyone, and that's a promise!

Corn Hole, Frisbee, and Volleyball.  Also, from 2:00pm - 4:00pm we will have a Photo Booth. Come make memories and have your photo taken with family and friends!  Photos are free, but donations are requested to help pay for the booth.

Please come join us for our Buffet menu and hear the many Speakers (Old TSD Members) tell about the Good Old Days at Dear TSD in Knoxville, TN. We plan to give away door prizes, including a 24" flat screen TV. Afterwards, we will have a DJ play your favorite music so you can do your favorite dances!

This is a great social gathering for people interested in meeting people who are Deaf and Hard of Hearing and want to practice communicating with them.  This may be of special interest to  people studying to become sign language interpreters, Deaf ED students, friends, and family members, etc. Open to the public and you may purchase your own dinner.

TPAC is providing Open Captioning and American Sign Language for Disney’s Beauty and the Beast, 1 p.m. matinee, Sunday, September 29. This romantic Broadway musical for all generations tells the classic love story of Belle and a young prince trapped in a spell. If the beast can learn to love and be loved, he will be transformed to his former self… but time is running out. Filled with unforgettable characters and dazzling production numbers, including “Be Our Guest” and the beloved title song, Disney’s Beauty and the Beast is one of the most beautiful love stories ever told.

On September 21st The Chattanooga Zoo will host the City of Chattanooga’s Annual Go!Fest from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. This FREE event celebrates Chattanooga’s accessibility to everyone, regardless of ability. Guests of all ages will be treated to a FREE day at the zoo and are encouraged to enjoy adaptive activities, live music and learn more about services available.

Activities:

In addition to being a celebration of living life without limitations, Go!Fest features:

   - Adaptive athletics, including wheelchair basketball and cycling;

Bonnie Sloan was the first deaf football player in the NFL. He played for the St. Louis Cardinals in the 1973 season. The City of Hendersonville is honoring him by naming August 25th Bonnie Sloan Day. There will be a presentation at the Hendersonville City Hall from 3-4 on Sunday, August 25th. Several football teams have issued letters to Bonnie and they will be read. Austin Peay will also be present to honor him. All are welcome!! Please plan on joining the City of Hendersonville to honor Bonnie!
