The Wisconsin Association of the Deaf (WAD, established in 1876 in Delavan, WI, is the state's premier civil rights advocacy based organization of, by and for deaf, hard of hearing, and deafblind individuals in the State of Wisconsin. WAD was originally known as Wisconsin Deaf Alumni Association.
WAD is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization supported by the generosity of individuals and organizational donors, including businesses and foundations. The organization is governed by the bylaws.
The board meets minimum 4 times a year.
All donations are tax deductible to the extent allowed by the federal government.
An affiliate of the National Association of the Deaf.
