The NCSA supports a community of cuers who have come together to promote language accessibility through Cued Speech. Some of us are native cuers. Some are parents of children who are deaf and hard of hearing (D/HH) or need visual access to language. Some are professionals who work with those who are D/HH or need visual access to language.
Individuals who are D/HH comprise the majority of our Officers, as well as half of our Board of Directors. We come from diverse backgrounds and communication modalities. As such, we are very familiar with available services and technology for the deaf and hard of hearing. Together, our unique perspectives merge to better support and serve cuers at home, school, and work.
