Meet Kelvin, the DeafBlind Potter. Living with Usher Syndrome Type II, Kelvin's journey has been remarkable. Born with hearing loss, he has worn hearing aids throughout his life. At thirteen, Kelvin lost his night vision, at nineteen became legally blind, and by twenty-eight, he lost all clarity of vision. Today, he no longer perceives pictures and details.
Throughout his journey, Kelvin found solace in revisiting the pottery wheel. It became a therapeutic outlet, helping him navigate the stages of his vision loss. As he began encouraging others to experience the healing power of the wheel, the concept of the DeafBlind Potter evolved into a reality. The mission now is to establish a ceramics studio that supports individuals with disabilities through pottery. Additionally, there is a goal to fund the creation of a lighted blind cane, enhancing safety and independence for the blind in their travels.

"Witness the extraordinary journey of the DeafBlind Potter—a testament to overcoming adversity and finding inspiration through art. Having experienced the impact of being hit by a car three times, I understand the challenges faced by visually impaired individuals. Shockingly, an estimated 87 million people worldwide share similar experiences. That's why I have dedicated myself to creating a fully lighted blind cane called the See Me Cane. Every purchase of my pottery directly supports the production of these innovative canes, providing safety and independence to those in need. Join in this mission of resilience and hope. Purchase a piece of my pottery and be a part of empowering others to overcome obstacles and live life to the fullest. Together, let's make a lasting impact and build a brighter future for all!"
