
NOAA Focus Group Meeting in Clarksville

On Saturday, June 28th, EARS will be facilitating two focus group meetings in conjunction with a NOAA (National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration) grant that Vanderbilt's Program in Disaster Research and Training and Jacksonville State University, Department of Emergency Management received. There will be 2 focus group meetings held at the Montgomery County E911 Communications Center in Clarksville. The purpose of the focus groups is to help NOAA understand how dDeaf/HH/DB people receive emergency communications in the event of a tornado, flood, or other disasters.
We are seeking participants who live in the Clarksville area.
Participation is limited and by application only. Everyone who applies will be notified whether they have been selected.
Eligibility:
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Must be Deaf or Hard of Hearing
- Must communicate in ASL or English

Schedule: - 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM: For Deaf and DeafBlind participants (Sign Language Interpreters provided)
- 1:30 PM - 4:30 PM: For Hard of Hearing and Oral Deaf participants (Communication Access Realtime Translation - CART - provided)
Lunch will be provided to all participants.
