AIDB is part of Alabama’s Early Intervention System.  Services are provided to eligible children, birth to 3 years of age, at no cost to families. A complete developmental evaluation/assessment is given to determine the eligibility of a child.

The Kansas Deaf-Blind project provides technical assistance to families and educational teams who serve learners with combined hearing and vision loss in Kansas (birth to 21 years old).

The Kentucky Commission on the Deaf and Hard of Hearing was established by appropriation from the Kentucky Legislature during the 1982 session. Eleven commissioners were designated to serve on the Commission. In 1990, the law was amended to increase the number to fourteen.
