Formerly known as VSA TN, Borderless Arts Tennessee is a statewide organization committed to inclusive and accessible arts programs for people with disabilities to enhance educational curriculum, enrich creative expression, empower career development, and encourage community engagement. Deaf and hard of hearing participants and artists are encouraged to get involved. Programming is made accessible. Borderless Arts Tennessee, formerly VSA Tennessee, established in 2001, is part of an important history of equality and opportunity in the arts.

The Tennessee School for the Deaf offers online conversational sign language classes only to families with deaf or hard of hearing children 0- 5 years of age. The time of the classes are determined by the participants. Classes are offered using ZOOM (online video software) for weekly classes. Deaf adults are integral to the class. 0-5 Parent Outreach Educational Consultants facilitate the class.

The Resource Center for the Visually Impaired is located on the campus of the Tennessee School for the Blind in Nashville, Tennessee. The services of the RCVI are available to public school systems, to eligible, private non-profit local education agencies, and to state special schools across the state. An inventory of more than 22,000 Braille and large type textbooks and ancillaries, and non-book instructional materials is available on an annual loan basis. Approximately 9,500 items are currently on loan in local education agencies.

The Tennessee Department of Human Services' Division of Rehabilitation Services recognizes the unique needs of individuals who are Deaf, Deaf-Blind and Hard of Hearing. In 2005, the division established a new unit to provide specialized vocational rehabilitation services to eligible clients who are deaf, deaf-blind or hard of hearing. Thirteen (13) Vocational Rehabilitation Counselors, who are specially trained to work and communicate with persons who are deaf, deaf-blind or hard of hearing, provide services that enable their clients to enter, retain, or return to competitive employment.

The Link, a nonprofit Christian agency, strives to empower Deaf teens and young adults to transition from surviving and coping to living the abundant life accessible to them. This program provides Deaf teens and young adults with the opportunity to restore the missing foundational and fundamental skills necessary for healthy living. This will be accomplished through interagency collaboration and circle of support networks with a multi-component model of real life experiences.

The National Association of Interpreters in Education, NAIE, is an organization of interpreters who provide services to support the communication needs of students in educational settings. The NAIE promotes the pursuit of professional excellence regarding interpreting services in these settings. The purpose of the NAIE will identify and support best practices within the field, advocate for its members, provide continuing education, networking, resources and other professional opportunities.
