This workshop will focus on the use of SSPs within the realm of professional interactions. such as job interviews, platform speaking, and workplace etiquette. This will allow for the development of higher level skills. including haptics. protactile philosophy, and respect for the autonomy of the DeafBlind individual. Participants will be instructed on 30 basic haptic cues for use with guiding clients, alerting for interpreter changes, and describing the environment. They will also have an increased awareness of the protactile philosophy of PTASL and environmental factors relayed through communication and touch. Participants will gain an understanding of back channeling of information relayed through haptics and PTASL.

Presenters: Dana Tarter and Rebecca Story, MRC, State Coordinator of t>eafblind Services, Georgia Vocational Rehab.

This workshop will be presented in spoken English for .65 (free) CEUs (PS) and includes a 30 minute working lunch.

Please bring a lunch (refrigerator & microwave available) OR bring $5 for pizza, salad, & dessert lunch.
