During this Webinar we will discuss the importance of fingerspelling to support key vocabulary in the educational setting.  We will practice the components of producing and receiving fingerspelled words.

KATHY BODEWIG:  Experienced Educational Interpreter (K-12), worked at the elementary level for 20 years, the middle school level for 10 years and presently at the high school level for 4 years.  In addition to her interpreting for the regular day  classes, she interprets for after school activities which include R.O.P., athletics, clubs, etc.  She is the instructor for the Educational Interpreter Training Program at Cypress College, in Cypress, California, a unique program that focuses solely on preparing interpreters to work in K-12 regular education settings.  The classes are conducted at the college and as distance learning as well.  Kathy does freelance interpreting and is also a national and international consultant and lecturer for the S.E.E. Center f/t Advancement of Deaf Children.
