This is a free event for all families with children of any age who have any degree of hearing loss, adults who are deaf or hard of hearing, and professionals who support us. We'll have hotdogs, chips, cookies, fun for the kids, and a great time visiting with one another!  Feel free to bring your own lawn chair or blanket.

SPEAKER: Mike Helms, Vice President, Adult Education and Outreach for Bridges for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing in Nashville. He is the father of two wonderful girls.    

TOPIC: “Know Your Child” Making decisions for your deaf and hard of hearing child can be difficult. This topic focuses on encouraging parents through that process.

The 4 E's of Raising a Deaf or Hard of Hearing Child: Expose, Educate, Embrace, and Elevate

Families will learn about different concepts and how they tie into how families can elevate their deaf or hard of hearing child’s language.

We have Nashville Chapter Tennessee Association of the Deaf at 10:30 a.m. business meeting followed by Patroit's Day themed party. Bring:Sides for the main dish (We are bringing the meat). Please reply to Brenda or Steph what you are planning to bring for the party. Cost: $5 if you don't bring a side, dessert or drinks. Everyone is welcome to attend!
