Event

The third Monday of this month babies and toddlers, aged 0-3, are invited to come sing, dance, read, and sign! Babies and caregivers will learn how to use sign language to increase communication and early literacy skills. A “Special Edition” Story time will be presented at 9:30 am for babies and toddlers with disabilities and their caregivers followed by a story time at 10:30 am for all caregivers and babies.  Space is limited to 15 families for each program.

The program will take place in "The Commons" - on the 3rd floor of the library.

Families of Deaf and Hard of Hearing Children Picnic!!! Sponsored by Tennessee Hands & Voices & Guide by Your Side.

Sunday May 13th at 2:00 p.m. til sunset -- Shelby Farms Pavilion #2 (Pine Lake Drive - has four picnic tables and a grill. Close to the restrooms, the Woodland Discovery Playground, and Pine Lake)

Hot dogs, drinks and chips will be provided.

Join us and connect with other parents.

Our focus this year is on Critical Issues in Deaf Education: Transitions from secondary to post-secondary settings. Presentations include information from state agencies providing services and support for students who are deaf or hard of hearing as they transition into college or career settings.  Topics such as Self-Determination and Self-Advocacy will be included as well as where to locate and how to secure Interpreters, Transcription or Cart services, Vocational Rehabilitation and much more.

Jump Up and Join the Fun with Tennessee Hands & Voices at Leaping Lizards!

Who is Invited?  Families of deaf, deaf-blind and hard of hearing children, deaf adults, and the professionals who serve them.

What will happen?  We will be bouncing on the inflatables, socializing, and having fun!

Price:  $8 per child
