KCD invites you to attend an informational meeting regarding Tennessee's efforts to create sign language interpreter licensure.  For your convenience, two meetings will be held this Saturday: from 1PM - 3PM and from 6PM - 8PM.  Everyone is welcome to attend and learn more about the proposed legislation.  We will share information, including a PowerPoint presenatation that explains the process, and answer your questions about what interpreter licensure will look like in Tennessee!

The Tennessee Disability Coalition is conducting focus group discussions to gather perspectives on how people want to engage with their elected officials at the federal, state and local levels.

These groups will consist of 6-8-people and last from 60-90 minutes in various parts of the state.  All discussions will be anonymous with no attribution of comments to specific individuals. The dates, times and locations are listed on the flyer.

 Kim Bianco-Majeri holds an M.B.A. degree from North Park University with an emphasis in Nonprofit Management and a Master's degree from New York University. With this education and over 20 years of experience in nonprofit and corporate settings, advocacy has always been a core principle of her work. Recent events have revealed the need to increase legislative advocacy skills within our community especially with respect to educating legislative officials on the needs and rights of deaf and hard of hearing adults and children.
