Partnership D/DB/HH Services is partnering with The Chattery to have an American Sign Language Interpreter for their upcoming Origami Class. Learn how to use paper to create beautiful gifts you can share this February. Everyone will receive materials and instructions to create 3 distinct paper gifts including a puzzle card, a gift box, and a paper flower bouquet that will never wilt.

When: February 10th, 12:30 pm-2:30 pm

Where: 1800 Rossville Avenue, Suite 108 Chattanooga, TN 37408

The class costs $25 and includes all supplies.

INTERPRETED EVENT MEMPHIS. Join the The Orpheum Theatre-Memphis for a two-day festival showcasing the voices of Memphians. Storyfest 2023 features FREE live performances, engagement activities, and community reflections at the Halloran Centre at the Orpheum. All performances will be interpreted in sign language by BridgesWEST.

Guest Speaker: Stephen Martini from the Department of Emergency Communication on topic,

TEXT TO 911 ACCESSIBILITY

We'll be having a guest speaker, Stephen Martini (with the Department of Emergency Communications at Metro Nashville), who will be talking about "Text to 911"! Stephen's presentation will highlight what happens when callers (hard of hearing / deaf individuals) text 9-1-1 and the various ways emergency responders interact with hard of hearing / deaf individuals.

We want to discuss how we go from interpreting models of the past, to an advanced professional group of service providers who love the community but do not unintentionally steal their power.
