Helen Keller National Center, Senior Adult Services, is pleased to announce the dates for the 2014 Confident Living Programs on

April 6-11, 2014. (Cut-off date to receive completed forms: Monday March 10.)

and

October 19-24, 2014 (Cut-off date to receive completed forms: Monday, Sept. 15.)

These one-week programs are specially designed for Senior Adults (age 55 and better), who are hard of hearing and blind or visually impaired, and do not use sign language as their primary means of communication

The HLAA Walk4Hearing takes place in 21 cities nationwide. With thousands of walkers representing so many people, we are raising awareness for hearing loss.

This is a kickoff on March 29th for Chattanooga's Walk 4 Hearing.  

Attention Walkers! Remember to bring your smart phones with you to the Walk because we will be streaming live CART to web-enabled smart phones. All pre-Walk speeches will be captioned on your iPhone, BlackBerry*, or Droid.

The Brentwood Baptist Church mobile medical facility will be providing FREE dental extractions, dental cleanings, health assessments, and glucose and BP screenings--all done by licensed medical professionals. Prayer and spiritual support will also be offered.

An appointment is REQUIRED. Appointments will be scheduled in 30 minute increments. They will be first come, first serve, so schedule yours as soon as possible through the attached Google doc. Click here to register.

The Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) program teaches about many different hazards such as, disaster preparedness, terrorism awareness, fire suppression, and much more!

Hands-on activities are included to help you learn!

CERT class is FREE and lunch will be provided, both days!
