Guest Speaker: Stephen Martini from the Department of Emergency Communication on topic,

TEXT TO 911 ACCESSIBILITY

We'll be having a guest speaker, Stephen Martini (with the Department of Emergency Communications at Metro Nashville), who will be talking about "Text to 911"! Stephen's presentation will highlight what happens when callers (hard of hearing / deaf individuals) text 9-1-1 and the various ways emergency responders interact with hard of hearing / deaf individuals.

We are partnering with the Hamilton County Health Department to provide an interpreted class on how to be prepared for emergencies. There are 12 slots available for this class and all who sign up will receive a free emergency kit. We will serve light refreshments starting at 5:30pm and the class will begin at 6pm.

 Interpreters and captioning will be available.

Our Office of Emergency Management representative will be discussing all the events of 2020, and then we will have an open discussion on any problems you may have experienced during these events. 

We will also have a special announcement you won't want to miss!

You're invited to Partnership's community night town hall discussion with Chattanooga Police Chief David Roddy. This is an opportunity to ask questions, express fears and concerns, and share your culture. In addition to the Chief, there will also be a parole and investigation officer attending. Partnership is located at Eastgate Towne Center.

Captioning and interpreters will be provided!

HLAA's guest speaker will be Jeff Carney, director of operations at Hamilton County 911. Jeff spoke to us last about progress concerning the text-to-911 change over. He will be updating us on the latest progress and hopefully tell us when we can expect text-to-911 service here.

Event

This meeting is our required annual meeting to discuss certain specifics with the group, but this meeting we will have a special guest from the National Weather Service to discuss some flooding and winter weather basics along with some preparedness steps you can take. Lunch will be provided, so please make sure you register!!

The EARS Consortium Meeting is held the fourth Thursday, every third month - in January, April, July, and October.
