SPEAKER: Mike Helms, Vice President, Adult Education and Outreach for Bridges for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing in Nashville. He is the father of two wonderful girls.    

TOPIC: “Know Your Child” Making decisions for your deaf and hard of hearing child can be difficult. This topic focuses on encouraging parents through that process.

Families will learn about different concepts and how they tie into how families can elevate their deaf or hard of hearing child’s language.

In keeping with our theme, “Moving Forward Together”, our focus is advancing in our skills and practice while supporting each other. Whether you are licensed, nationally certified, have completed the EIPA requirements, haven’t yet taken the written and performance portions but are working as an interpreter with deaf students in the public school setting, or currently enrolled in an interpreter training program, there is something for everyone at this Summer Institute!

You and your family are invited to a Play Date for children birth to four with Hearing Concerns.

Time: 9:30 – 11:00 (come when you can!)
