This year, ASDC is putting on a family conference like no other! Instead of holding to the traditional format of two full days of speakers, we are doing something different. We will get together for short presentations in the morning, and then your whole family will head off for a fun-filled afternoon field trip, accompanied by a Deaf ASL role model. Welcome to the Bringing the Stage to Life - NASHVILLE Conference! This event is completely unique and cannot be compared to any short or long term performance interpreting conference. BSL Nashville focuses on preparing attendees to use performance interpreting skills for professional and local events. Because BSL Nashville is located here in Music City U.S.A. we have a unique opportunity to access a wide variety of musical styles and settings ranging from dinner theaters, to national shows, to local Honky Tonks, one time big named concerts, to the famous Grand Ole Opry stage. Campus Connections is for college bound teenagers who are Deaf and Hard of Hearing. This event will teach you how to navigate the college application system, request and receive services, learn about different classroom technologies and accommodations, overcome anxieties about meeting successful DHH college students, and experience life on a real college campus, dorms, and classrooms.

Interpreters, CART, and FM systems will be provided. Space is limited and please email to register.

The American Cochlear Implant Alliance is a non-profit organization whose mission is to advance access to the gift of hearing provided by cochlear implantation through research, advocacy and awareness. The Consumer, Family, and Community Advocacy Seminar (CFCA) is for deaf and hard of hearing consumers and parents of deaf and hard of hearing children interested in improving the quality of life for themselves and/or their families through advocacy. Your instructor will facilitate hands-on activities and presentations targeting, developing and improving participants' advocacy knowledge and skills. Participants will receive practical inside strategies on how to increase the impact of their advocacy efforts, along with a road map to guide their involvement as advocates in individual and community issues. Program materials will also include carefully selected readings on a wide range of advocacy issues.
