The best-selling young adult novel of all time comes to NCT’s stage in a powerful, hard-edged production that has been three years in the making!  In this intense coming-of-age story set in 1965 Tulsa, Oklahoma, you’re either a Greaser or a Soc. When these two gangs from opposite sides of the track clash, young Ponyboy will have to depend on his brothers and friends to survive.

“I think deafness is a disability,” a girl named CiCi says.  “To me it’s not a disability at all,” says a girl named Isabella.  Both CiCi and Isabella are deaf themselves.  But they deal with it in very different ways.

“I love music,” CiCi says.  “And I hear it through my cochlear implant and my hearing aid.” (“Cochlear” is pronounced “CO-clee-ur.”) “I am okay with never hearing anything,” Isabella says.

Join us for the second annual FREE all-inclusive retreat opened to all 9th-12th grade students who are deaf and hard or hearing in Tennessee. At the retreat, students will get assistance filling out college applications and job applications as well as learn from successful Deaf/HH adults about their college and work experiences.

Visitors of all abilities will go wild for a free day at the Chattanooga Zoo at Warner Park during the 10th Annual Go!Fest!

What will happen:  
We will eat pizza for lunch at 12:00. Activities range from the playground, taking a ride on their bikes, playing ball in the field, or taking a stroll around the Riverpark. 

Who is invited:
Children who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing, their families, the professionals who serve them, and Deaf or Hard of Hearing adults/mentors.

Saturday events include: parent workshop and childcare; afternoon family activities and socializing with others from across the state.   Breakfast, lunch and dinner are included on Saturday and Continental breakfast provided on Sunday.
