Hello from Nashville, TN!

I'm so excited to share with you that, after 20 years in Georgia, Camp DOVE will be launching its newest camp to be held in Tennessee!  We need your help to spread the word and give Deaf children the opportunity to experience an overnight camp in their heart language.

Frederick Douglass emancipated himself from slavery and went on to become outspoken abolitionist, author and famous public speaker.  Frederick Douglass' last home in Washington, DC is now preserved and operated by the National Park Service and year-round the site offers a variety of special programs to the public.  The site's annual oratorical contest is an opportunity for students in 1st to 12th grades that includes students learning a portion of one of Douglass' speeches and performing it for a panel of judges.  There is both an on-line contest on December 7th and 8th (so s

A FREE event, Haunted Museum brings together some of the state’s finest storytellers to deliver chilling ghost stories from Tennessee’s past for all ages. Guests can also enjoy snacks, games, art activities, and costume parades. Join us in the Forging a Nation gallery for demonstrations of the Museum’s 18th Century printing press. Those attending the Haunted Museum event are invited to wear costumes and join in on the fun!

"Gracie's Ears" by Debbie Blackington will be read with American Sign Language interpretation!

For parents, grandparents and caregivers with young children ages 3-6, we invite you to join us for Tennessee Storytime. This is a great place for children to hear us read books related to our state’s people, culture, and history. Be sure to take advantage of some Tennessee-themed activities and crafts related to the books.

The Signing ACEs Cooking Club is open to kids third grade and up!  If we have enough interest, we might create a special class for younger children.

Come one! Come all! Come spend the day with us! Our sponsors will provide subs, dessert, and water. We will have a cake auction, games with lots of door prizes.
