Tennessee Deaf-Blind Project (TNDB) is a federally funded program that provides families, educators, and other professionals with information and training to help improve outcomes for individuals, from birth through age 21, who have a combined hearing and vision loss.

Join us for the second annual FREE all-inclusive retreat opened to all 9th-12th grade students who are deaf and hard or hearing in Tennessee. At the retreat, students will get assistance filling out college applications and job applications as well as learn from successful Deaf/HH adults about their college and work experiences.

To benefit the Tennessee School for the Deaf Athletic Department, the 2nd Annual Motorcycle Ride for Sports is on June 21! Bikers or non-bikers are welcome to come & support. Registration begins at TSD at 12:30 pm. Enjoy a ride around the area with a final destination at Shiloh Brew & Chew Family Restaurant in Maryville, TN with live music and door prizes. $25 per rider, $10 per passenger.

DeafConnect and MTRID present Dr. Robert Baldwin, Ph.D., a Licensed Clinical Psychologist who has been professionally trained in mindfulness based stress reduction. Dr. Baldwin works at the Memphis VA Medical Center and also has a private practice.

WORKSHOP INFO
Participants will be presented with a historical narrative on audism and oppression within the larger context of society. Other topics covered will be Deaf culture, societal privilege, social justice, exploring personal views/biases, discovering common language biases, interpreting roles in and out of an educational setting, ally roles and audism. Participants will be guided through the four levels in Ally development.
