ASL Coffee Chat is a chance for anyone who enjoys American Sign Language to get together, chat, practice, meet new friends, and learn new signs. It doesn't matter if ASL is your first language, or you only know a few signs.

We will be hosting a Basic/Beginner Sign Language class starting June 18th for 10 weeks meeting every Thursday night from 6:30-8:30pm.  It will be held at Sycamore View Church of Christ in room 115.  (drive to the back of the parking lot and enter through the doors under the drive through awning area.)  After the 10 week course, we will then determine the interest in continuing with a more advanced class.  The class is open to all ages and is free.

A free all-inclusive retreat at YMCA Camp Widjiwagan designed to guide high school students who are deaf or hard of hearing through the college and job application process. (Lots of fun activities too: Motivational speaking, recreational Activities, visual/hands on Learning, college recruiting, team building activities, and the opportunity to meet professionals who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing.) Saturday only registration is available.

Kirby Woods Baptist Deaf Church invites the Deaf Community Friends & Family to their Annual Worship & Picnic with guest speaker Chris Partain. Chris is the Church Planter Apprentice at Brentwood Baptist Deaf Church in Brentwood, Tennessee (Greater Nashville). More information to be announced soon.

Sunday May 13th at 2:00 p.m. til sunset -- Shelby Farms Pavilion #2 (Pine Lake Drive - has four picnic tables and a grill. Close to the restrooms, the Woodland Discovery Playground, and Pine Lake)

Hot dogs, drinks and chips will be provided.
