We are bringing our next Literacy Workshop (Ready, Set, Learn!) for parents, grandparents, and caregivers of children ages 0-5, identified with any hearing concerns to the TRI-CITIES AREA.

The Tennessee Council for the Deaf Deaf-Blind and Hard of Hearing (TCDDBHH) has the responsibility for ensuring that state and local public programs and services are accessible to deaf, hard of hearing, late deafened, and Deaf-Blind citizens. TCDDBHH coordinates communication, information, public awareness, and advocacy services through six regional community service centers. The centers assist the Division of Rehabilitation Services by providing services that compliment those offered by Vocational Rehabilitation staff.

Ready, Set, Learn!  Literacy Workshop for Families of deaf / hard of hearing children

Free childcare is provided.

Ready, Set, Learn! was designed specifically for families with children 12 months – 3 years identified with hearing concerns.

A & E is a cable television station.  This programs willl be broadcast at 7:00PM (CDT) and 8:00PM (EDT).

This new documentary special follows three predominantly deaf families as they raise their children in a hearing world. With many differing opinions about how deaf children should be raised swirling in the social consciousness, these families work to forge their own paths forward and combat the daily social stigmas many deaf people face. Executive Producer:  Marlee Matlin, Academy Award winner.
