The Tennessee Council for the Deaf Deaf-Blind and Hard of Hearing (TCDDBHH) has the responsibility for ensuring that state and local public programs and services are accessible to deaf, hard of hearing, late deafened, and Deaf-Blind citizens. TCDDBHH coordinates communication, information, public awareness, and advocacy services through six regional community service centers. The centers assist the Division of Rehabilitation Services by providing services that compliment those offered by Vocational Rehabilitation staff.

Stroll around the Frist Art Museum as you learn more about our landmark building from one of our always-engaging docents.

Randy Chappell is leaving DeafConnect and Memphis, TN after 26 1/2 years of service. DeafConnect appreciates Randy's time and service given to the agency and the entire community. DeafConnect hopes you can stop by and say BYE to Randy, share positive stories and memories, and enjoy some time with us before he goes to Alabama. Refreshments will be served. We hope to see you!

TRI-CITIES!: READY, SET, LEARN! is coming your way!
Sponsored by: 0-5 Parent Outreach with the Comprehensive Educational Resource Center located at the Tennessee School for the Deaf is coming to your area!
We are bringing our next Literacy Workshop (Ready, Set, Learn!) for parents, grandparents, and caregivers of children ages 0-5, identified with any hearing concerns to the TRI-CITIES AREA.

Come and join our annual Valentine Banquet on Saturday, February 9th, 2019 at 5:00 PM. Invite your family and friends to attend this event. More details to be announced soon.
Crosstown Brewing and DeafConnect are partnering up to offer a Deaf-friendly bingo night! There will also be free interpreted tours of the brewing process throughout the event. All donations will benefit DeafConnect, a Memphis based non-profit serving the Deaf Community since 1975. Drinks will be available for purchase via Crosstown Brewery Co. and food trucks will be on-site. Make a small donation to play a round of bingo. Winners from each round will receive a fun prize!

This is an opportunity to meet with state legislators at the Capitol in Nashville to talk about issues that are important to you and your family. Dozens of disability organizations will be participating; with your help, we can ensure that every legislator gets to hear from a constituent with a disability or a family member.
The Arc Mid-South will provide accessible bus transportation for this event. We will leave The Arc offices at 3485 Poplar Ave. in Memphis at 5:30 am and return by 6:30 pm. Applications and fees are due by 4 p.m. on Friday, January 25.

This group is open to people in the Chattanooga area who are Deaf, hard of hearing, or interested in American Sign Language. We meet every month at Starbucks at 2217 Hamilton Place Blvd near Hamilton Place Mall next to Acropolis.
This group has been meeting for the past 3 years on the 3rd Saturday every month from 10-12. Announcements for community events, activities or other information is usually around 11 AM, if you have something to share please come on out!

The Tennessee Performing Arts Center will offer American Sign Language and Open Captioning for A Bronx Tale in Andrew Jackson Hall. Tickets in the orchestra section are on hold for patrons who use these services and will be available to purchase on Friday, November 16, 2018 at 10:00 am. These tickets begin at $65.00 and are subject to dynamic price increases over time, so the sooner you purchase, the more you save! Please buy your tickets by 5:00 p.m. on Friday, February 8 to take advantage of this special offer.

Refreshments are provided and meetings are always captioned! For those of you who have telecoils in your hearing aids, the room is looped.
In February, our speaker will be Dr. Wendy Haley Richardson from Chattanooga's Healthy Hearing. Her topic will be " New Hearing Aid Technology." She will explain how Bluetooth work; Why telecoils are important; and more!
Please feel free to bring a friend or relative to the meeting - all are welcome!
The meeting will be held in the Community Room.
