Bonnie Sloan was the first deaf football player in the NFL. He played for the St. Louis Cardinals in the 1973 season. The City of Hendersonville is honoring him by naming August 25th Bonnie Sloan Day. There will be a presentation at the Hendersonville City Hall from 3-4 on Sunday, August 25th. Several football teams have issued letters to Bonnie and they will be read. Austin Peay will also be present to honor him. All are welcome!!
