Camp Rise and Sign
May 11-12, 2018
FREE for children that are deaf and hard of hearing, their siblings, and CODAs ages 6-17.
An annual sleep-away just for our Deaf and hard of hearing students, it's an adventure filled with all the great camp traditions--sleeping bags, campfires, arts & crafts, and fireflies.
Camp Sign Me Up
A weekly, summer camp in which hearing friends and family learn American Sign Language (ASL) and practice during field trips and special activities.
June 4th-8th (ages 13-17) $70 *These campers also have the opportunity to apply to attend the following weeks as junior counselors
June 11th-15th (ages 6-8 and new to sign) $70
June 18th-22nd (ages 6-12) $70 **SESSION FILLED
June 25th-29th (ages 6-12) $70
Campers are welcome to attend more than one week. Activities will change each week. There is a $10 discount for siblings.
Monday - Friday: 9:00 AM - 3:30 PM
Before and after care, 8:30am to 4:45pm, are offered for $40.00 per week.

Sign Club Co. Sign Camp 2018
June 4-8, 2018
Individual camper fee: $150 (Discount available for multiple children in the same family; A few scholarships may be available for students who qualify)
(Camp space limited to the first 50 registrants)
Activities include kayaking, bird watching/helicopter exploring, fishing, messy twister, Adventure Science Center, Drama Time with Ms. Andrea and an end
of camp performance.
Tennessee School for the Deaf Summer Camps

Announcing a new summer literacy program for Tennessee's Deaf and Hard of hearing children who are in rising K-3 grades! The summer program will be held at the Tennessee School for the Deaf (TSD) in Knoxville Tennessee, and will be four weeks. The focus of this program is to improve and/or accelerate literacy skills in our Deaf and Hard of Hearing children. Transportation and lodging will be provided for those who are not local (in the Knoxville area).
Who can register: Deaf and/or Hard of Hearing children with an IEP, who are already enrolled in school and live in Tennessee
Purpose of Program: To ensure that Deaf and Hard of Hearing children have an early start or access to intervention that will develop, strengthen and promote strong English and reading skills (literacy).
Afternoon program: Will be designed as a summer camp where the students will be given an opportunity to experience all of the finest outdoor activities, events and attractions that Knoxville has to offer.
Cost: There will be a nominal cost for after school activities. Stipends will be available.
Logistics: Students will stay from Sunday night to Friday noon and go home on weekends for those who do not live locally. Those who live locally will be welcome to stay on campus or go home every night if that is the parents/families' preferences.

TSD will host three camps this summer for Deaf/hard of hearing students from TSD and other programs throughout the State of Tennessee. The camps are recreational in nature and offer a unique opportunity for students to share adventures while developing friendships, leadership skills, and self-esteem.

The Junior Camp is for students entering grades 5 - 8. A variety of adventures and activities will be offered to make this year’s camp a memorable experience. We will be traveling to Gatlinburg for a day of fun-filled activities. Dollywood, tubing and canoe trips are also in the works. No camp is complete without lots of swimming, cookouts, and s’mores. If you are active and like to run, play, and swim, this camp is for you!
The Senior Camp is for students entering grades 9 - 12. Whether by canoe, foot, or on two wheels, we will be exploring beautiful East Tennessee. We will travel to a state park, the Smoky Mountains, and Dollywood for several days of high adventure and maximum fun. We’ll camp in air conditioned cabins and have cookouts. If you enjoy adventure and are into the great outdoors, this camp is for you.
Camp Courage is designed to meet the needs of those Deaf/hard of hearing students with one or more disabilities. Students entering grades 7 - 12 are accepted. The activities planned for this camp will be varied and entertaining, while remaining well within the students’ abilities. The staff selected to work this camp have experience working with special students.

Volunteer Your Voice - Summer Program
June 4 - 8, 2018
Ages: 8 - 15 years old
A week-long summer camp for children with speech, language and/or hearing disorders.
Monday & Tuesday: 8:30 AM - 11:30 AM at the UT Hearing & Speech Center
Wednesday - Friday: Drop off at UT Hearing and Speech Center at 8:30 AM. Pick up at The Great Smoky Mountains Institute at Tremont on Friday at 11:30 AM.
Cost: $360 (includes all food and lodging (Wed - Fri), clinical services, and 2 follow up sessions)
