Schools: 
EIPA (preferred), RID/NIC, or HQAS (Hawaii Quality Assurance).
Courts: 
Level IV for small claims, Level V for criminal or civic trials
Medical: 
Level IV for most appointments, Level V for emergency
Notes: 
The HQAS establishes interpreting and transliterating standards at various skill levels.
Licensure: 
Not technically, but certification standards are laid out in the law.

Disability and Communication Access Board
Fee(s): 
$100 for continuing education program
Board: 
The DCAB is comprised of seventeen (17) board members, who are Governor-appointed volunteers. Members include: Persons with disabilities, Parents or guardians of persons with disabilities, Public and private providers of service, and Other professionals who are knowledgeable in the areas for which DCAB has rule-making authority.
Qualifications: 
Nationally certified or state credentialed.
CEUs: 
3 CEUs in a two year cycle
